The EMH Regional Medical Center holds the prestigious three-year Certificate of Approval with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
This approval means that EMH has voluntarily dedicated itself to providing the best diagnosis and treatment of cancer. EMH meets national standards that have been established to ensure that cancer patients receive the best possible care at the local level. About 25% of the country's hospitals have approved cancer programs, and more than 80 percent of patients who are newly diagnosed with cancer are treated in these hospitals.
