Amherst Hospital offers a variety of medical services as well as a full-service 24 hour, 7 day-a-week emergency department.  Along with a nationally-recognized orthopedics program, Amherst Hospital also houses an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit and a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH), "Lorain Specialty Hospital."
