Community
At EMH, our mission is to improve the health of our community through safe, high quality and cost effective care. Providing that care, regardless of the ability to pay, resulted in more than $41,500,000 in uncompensated care in 2011 – and that amount continues to grow.
Each year, EMH participates in several community outreach programs that bring health education and life-saving screenings to people in their own neighborhoods. EMH Healthcare provides medical services to patients of the Lorain County Free Clinic, and our employees are passionate about helping those in need through charitable organizations such as the United Way, Harvest for Hunger and the Salvation Army.
Part of Elyria and Lorain County for more than a century, EMH also believes in giving back to our community in ways that support other local organizations. EMH Healthcare recently donated $200,000 to the Elyria Schools to help fund the Science Wing at the new high school, and partnered with Lorain County Health & Dentistry to bring two Elyria health center locations that will help provide care to those who could otherwise not afford it.
At EMH Healthcare, our promise to patients is to provide “Expert care and Exceptional caring” to all.
